Privacy

Draft — pending legal review.

No message information and no personal information leaves your Mac. KeepMyBubbles reads the Messages database on your own Mac — read-only, never writing to it — and saves exports where you choose. Your conversations are not uploaded, copied to us, or shared with anyone. This is not a policy choice we could quietly reverse: the app has no facility to transmit message content, and there is no server to send it to.

Who is responsible

Wayflo Limited, a company registered in New Zealand under NZBN 9429053507716, is the data controller for the limited information described below. Our registered office address is available on request. Questions: support@keepmybubbles.com.

What we collect

Nothing about your messages. KeepMyBubbles has no accounts, no analytics, and no crash reporting that transmits data off your Mac. Diagnostics are written to a file on your Mac and only ever leave it if you choose to copy the report and send it — and the app shows you the exact text before you do. The diagnostic log is built so that message content cannot enter it: it accepts only short event codes, which no message, name or address can satisfy.

Exporting makes no network requests at all. PDF exports draw text and emoji with fonts already installed on your Mac; nothing is fetched.

Licence activation

Activating a licence checks the key with our payment provider, along with an identifier for the machine so a key can be limited to three devices. That identifier is derived on your Mac and identifies nobody; the request carries no message content and nothing personal. Your name and email sit with the payment provider who took the payment, and we use them only to support your licence and to tell you about updates to the version you bought.

Files on your Mac

Exports are written where you choose, and are yours — we never see them. Anything else KeepMyBubbles keeps in order to work — an index of your attachments so you can search inside them, images prepared for preview, temporary files — stays on your Mac, is readable only by you, and goes when you delete the app and its data. None of it is sent anywhere, and deleting a message in Messages takes it out of the app as well.

Full Disk Access

macOS requires this permission before any app can read the Messages database. It can only be granted from the Mac itself, by someone signed in to that account with an administrator password. Granting it to KeepMyBubbles does not grant it to anything else, and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings. The app can read only the messages of the account it runs under — see acceptable use.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over personal data we hold. If you are in California, you have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have no message data to disclose in any case. Email us to exercise any of these; we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If a future version of KeepMyBubbles changes what leaves your Mac, this page will say so before that version ships, not after.
